Lady Theresa Thombs is running for the Texas State House of Representatives for District 91, which (for now) includes North Richland Hills, Richland Hills, Watauga and Haltom City. In this interview she discusses her qualifications and how she will approach her responsibilies as a new legislator in Austin. She also shares the fascinating backstory on the “Lady” part of her name.
Lady Theresa has lived in Haltom City for almost 19 years, running a small business with her husband Barry. She has won numerous awards for her work in the Republican Party, running her successful business, and for her many public service and outreach efforts throughout the world. These include 2003 Business Woman of the Year presented by the National Republican Congressional Committee; recipient of the Congressional Medal of Distinction presented by the National Republican Congressional Committee in 2006 and 2007; recipient of the Ronald Reagan Gold Medal Award presented by the National Republican Congressional Committee in 2005 and 2006. Other acknowledgements include the National Leadership Award 2007; Presidential Citation; Small Business of the Year Award 2004; and Dame of Justice by the Sovereign Order of the Knights of Justice.
